I had the opportunity to photograph Emerald Necklace Conservatory’s Parkfest, an outdoor celebration of local performances, kids’ activities, art, games, dancing, and more across the parks of Boston’s Emerald Necklace. I was assigned to Franklin Park and Arnold Arboretum, my first time at both parks. Local organizations participated and held activities, including a live puppet play produced by Community Music Center of Boston and Mothers Out Front, Latin dance lessons hosted by a Trike Called Funk, and a live mural by Graffiti Artist Alvin Colón. It was nice to see strangers and passerbys come together and enjoy the last of summer in the parks.
