The "waiting project” is a black & white 35mm portrait series, where I approach strangers who appear waiting for something, and ask them, “What are you waiting for now?” and, “What have you been waiting for the longest?”
I ask permission to take their portrait, then ask them to write down their answer on a piece of note paper. I do the same, and we exchange our answers.
Around the time I conceived of the project, I was feeling stagnant. I was curious to hear how others resonated with a feeling that was specific to my life yet universally felt.
